Our teachers this year are: Mrs Bhardwaj (RB), Miss Wands (RW) and Mrs Pione (RP). Each class is supported by a dedicated nursery nurse. Mrs Kesterlian supports RW, Miss Walters is in RB and Miss McFadden is in RP. Some children receive 1:1 support. The adults supporting children on a 1:1 basis are: Mrs Costick and Miss Joyce (RW) and Mrs Andersson (RB).
Each teacher receives PPA time to allow for them to plan, prepare and assess. The information below indicates when and who will cover this time:
RP - Mrs Message (Thursday afternoon)
RB – Mrs Speed (Wednesday afternoon)
RW - Mrs Quirk (Thursday afternoon).

Trips:
In the summer term, we usually go to the Iver nature centre to explore the different eco-systems, habitats and life cycles. We also explore the local area.
Phonics:
We are following the Little Wandle phonics scheme in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. This scheme has been accredited by the DFE.
The sounds the children are taught are introduced in a specific order. The progression has been organised so that children are taught from the simple to more complex GPCs, as well as taking into account the frequency of their occurrence in the most commonly encountered words. The document also shows when tricky words are introduced. Tricky words are words that are not phonetically decodable.
Reception Baseline Assessment (RBA):
The children will be sitting the RBA within the first 6 weeks of autumn term. For more information please click here to see the parent guide produced by the DFE.
