Attendance/C6582C213621F2DD24A2082BD7203A74.jpg)
We expect all of the children at Glebe to have good attendance. Children should only be absent from school if they are too ill to attend. The school office should be notified that they will not be in school and advise us of when they are likely to be back. We do operate a first day absence ring home policy if we do not receive notification of pupil absence.
When is my child too ill to attend school?
We follow the government guidelines for schools and nurseries about health protection and managing specific infectious diseases at GOV.UK. These say when children should be kept off school and when they shouldn't.
How do we celebrate good attendance?
Each week, in achievement assembly we announce the attendance percentage of each class. The class with the highest attendance are given a certificate and keep the attendance bear for the week (a minion in KS2 and Winnie the Pooh in KS1/EYFS). At the end of each term the class with the highest attendance gets a reward of their choice. Each child with 100% attendance will receive a certificate in assembly.
