"At Glebe we pride ourselves on our warm, welcoming atmosphere. We believe in developing the whole child to reach their potential academically, socially and emotionally. Our staff are friendly and approachable and have high expectations of themselves and the pupils.
Glebe is a cheerful, stimulating and engaging environment where mutual respect underpins every interaction. We work hard to ensure pupils develop a strong work ethic and show resilience in their learning. We actively encourage pupils to develop their characters by embedding dispositions such as perseverance and courage and personal values such as honesty, kindness and loyalty.
Your child is important to us and each member of staff is dedicated to ensuring that your child has the best start to their learning journey. Pupils progress well at Glebe and we track every pupil to ensure all pupils are working to their optimum potential.
We are proud to be the only primary school in the London Borough of Hillingdon that has a Specialist Resourced Provision for Hearing Impaired Pupils. As well as delivering excellent provision, it also helps the pupils to develop very positive and inclusive attitudes towards others regardless of any disadvantage they may have.
For our pupils to thrive, effective partnerships with parents and carers are essential. Regular communication through text message, email, newsletters, workshops and coffee mornings ensure families feel part of our school. All our staff are available to talk through parents’ concerns. Regular parents’ evenings are scheduled through the year and parents receive regular feedback on their child’s progress, attainment and wellbeing at school. We have a very active Friends of Glebe (FOG) group which all members of the community are invited to join.
The ‘Glebe Way’ permeates the school day and ensures that everyone is clear on our high expectations of learning and attitudes. We are very proud of our excellent standards of behaviour. Our detailed Behaviour Framework, along with the Glebe Way, ensures consistency of approach so children are treated fairly and feel safe in school. We nurture good behaviour through modelling, rewarding and building strong relationships rooted in respect and empathy.
Our exciting and creative curriculum is constantly evolving, following the direction of the pupils. Although we have a structured and robust framework in place, staff are actively encouraged to develop innovative ways to deepen learning and create a thirst for knowledge. We are fortunate to have large, beautiful grounds including themed gardens and we actively encourage outdoor learning. We are a well-resourced school, particularly in terms of ICT.
I feel privileged to lead such a fantastic school and I strongly urge you to visit Glebe, as choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you make as a parent. I look forward to welcoming you to the school when you visit."
My best wishes
